Your country has made a huge stride toward becoming whole. And here’s where we really begin to kick ass.

Congratulations, Coozledad! I give you full credit for North Carolina’s amazing indigo yesterday. Way to knock on doors! We’re within 600 votes of an Obama victory in Omaha, with tons of provisional ballots still to be counted. The GOP would prefer that those get tossed in a dumpster behind the local Hy-Vee, so the battle continues. But today is one to savor. It’s been such a long time coming….

Has NC gone blue yet? CNN’s map doesn’t call it. You should be proud of being one of the ones “on the ground”, now that every news outlet is falling all over themselves to praise O’s fabulous organization.

I’m really sort of stunned. Happy to have been part of this project.
Unleash the fury of Archie on that Omaha GOP!

We lost our county, but the totals don’t look anything like what I saw at the polls. Doesn’t matter, though.
The folks Chicago sent us are a pair of heroes. I hope this is the beginning of great careers for the both of them.

I would have to dress the Omaha republicans in squirrel drag for Archie to go full rabid. Otherwise, he’ll lick them into submission. Given his breath, that might do the trick…

What does it say about the GOP when I can easily imagine some of them in squirrel drag, smoking cigars at a furry bar?

Funny you should talk about weeping. I got through this whole election avoiding confrontation with people I care about (often by actually avoiding them) and now after it’s all over I have just spent 15 minutes in the ladies’ room crying because I got into a fight with a coworker/good friend who shall we say is not happy his side lost. A bit of a next-day letdown for me. I may have just lost a friend because I rose to his (uninformed, possibly racist) bait.

They have a knack for getting all in your guts, don’t they. One of the shits jumped me at the polls yesterday with the “I’m making over 250,000, and I’m having to restructure my business” load of horseshit strewn astroturf. I knew he was lying his fucking ass off, but I engaged his punk argument anyway. It only took him a couple of beats to go full-bore racist.
Don’t worry about your friend, Sue. They’ve probably already shaken it off. It’s a different world for them.

Yes, you’re right. It sure felt good last night being on the side of the good guys. I’ll have to remember that part of it and cut my losses elsewhere. Good thing the fighters (that would be you) did such an exceptional job for those of us who have the emotion and the certainty but not the courage. Thank you.

Thanks, Coozledad, for helping make NC part of a new South. My county is still red, also, but at least my vote helped get Obama a few more EV’s to add to his mandate. My nihilist son might vote again, too, seeing as how his vote really counted this time.

Well good for you both. Tell him I just found out politics is easier than you think, and that’s probably the chief reason so many shitheads gravitate toward it. It’s also why they’ve tried to portray it as some mystical, unaccountable process, so they can keep rational people out.
As my wife says, The rulebook is pretty short, and once you know it, you’re on your way to having the dumbasses by the balls.
