And our press is at best a pack of unconscious racists and suckups.
Prior to the election of Obama, they were stressing racially charged code in their public discourse, but now they don’t even bother. The press will keep pushing false equivalences regardless.
I was just reading over the list of lynchings that took place where I’ve lived over the years, Durham, Oxford, Warrenton (the city where my wife and I were married) Norlina (a crossroads with a bizarre old hotel/cafeteria we used to visit for a crappy three dollar meal and 1940′s ambience). I never knew how many corpses of the victims of mob violence my carefully insulated whiteboy arse was stepping over.
This country has a deep sickness.
One of the women at the cookout said she grieved when she left New York to come down here, and saw how it is not getting better, but worse, much worse. I told her I had the same feeling when I used to travel up there. It was an eye opener to see a beautiful, civilized place in a country that scarcely deserves it.
