I did a little work this morning, but one of the steers cleared the fence last night, and it took us a little while to locate him. I had planned on getting a few more brick laid on the shop chimney, but the heat quickly dispelled any notion of that. Instead, we retired to the shade and bunny-clipped a portion of a chicken-run together and drank a little wine. I was dehydrated after my second glass (and this was mixed with a generous amount of water). I then had a little iced coffee and watched the mules mow the orchard.

I can’t wait to get this project done. Masonry is a nice zen activity, but not at noonday in the summer. You can see where I started rebuilding this  at the drip edge slightly beneath the second walkboard. I hope to have it completed by next weekend.
