Chu Mi, the sheep, died late last winter, and I decided to skin her, as she was sporting a rather nice winter coat of both hair and wool. I thought she’d make a nice bomber hat, or if I failed to get the tanning solution exactly right, a prayer mat.

I’ve skinned expired goats before, but have never taken them through the tanning process, because I  did such a poor job of removing the hide, or  left them salted in the shed too long and hide beetles ate through the grain of the skin. So far this is working out OK and Chu’s dermis appears to be headed for reincarnation as a stupid hat.
